Default value from RESTFUL service

Sorry for too many questions but we are putting Orbeon into production now.

Can I confirm my understanding that out of all Orbeon's component that only dynamic lookup is allowed to retrieve values from an RESTFUL service but not the rest of them?  For example, it is not possible to set the default value of a textbook via a RESTFUL call?

Hi Jonathan,

No problem with the questions! I know those things work by "bursts". What you are asking is possible for any field using the Services and actions feature (see link below), which I should say is a PE-only feature. Would you be able to use those services and actions, or are you on Orbeon Forms CE?

Got it Jonathan. With the CE, you're correct: the Dynamic Dropdown is the only control you can connect to service without having to write your own XForms.
