Hello dear Orbeon team,

Context:
When I upgraded from version 2023.1 to 2025.1, I noticed that all instances of:
<xf:message level="modal" value="something"/>
now appear as native browser alerts instead of the dialogs that were previously used. This has caused some issues in forms managed by me.

What I've done:
I searched the documentation for information about dialogs but couldn't find anything mentioning a change in the behavior of xf:message.

I also looked through the issue tracker and didn't find anything useful, except that issue #2333 might be resolved if the change described above was intentional (because ESC works naturally ok on native browser alerts).

Question 1:
Is there any option to restore the previous behavior, or am I stuck with the native browser alerts?

Question 2:
Is replacing xf:message with xxf:dialog the correct migration path to address this issue?

P.S.
The "Release Notes" button on the download page still points to version 2024.1 instead of 2025.1:

Hi Marcin,

There is no way to restore the previous behavior;  as you've noted, the change was intentional. If you want more control over how the alert is shown, I'd indeed recommend you use an `<xxf:dialog>`. If within the scope of Form Runner, you can also use the `<fr:alert-dialog>`.

Thanks for letting us know about the incorrect CE release notes! I just updated it.
