Orbeon 2024.1 : The date picker component is not set to French.

Hello,

 

Since Orbeon 2024.1, I've noticed that the Date component no longer displays the month and day in French. It only displays them in English.

 

I don't have this problem with version 2023.1.

 

Have you seen any idea what might be causing the problem?

Looking at the All Form Controls example on demo.orbeon.com (URL below), which runs 2024.1.3, I can see the month and date correctly localised in French in the date picker. Are you seeing something different or referring to something else?

Hi Alex,

 

Yes, the "All Form Controls" example form displays correctly with the calendar in French.

 

I found the problem with my own XForms forms: since I changed "lang=fr" to "xml:lang=fr" in all XForms pages (specified as an attribute in the xh:xhtml tag) to properly handle the placeholder for the date fields, the HTML result in the browser no longer contains any indication of the language: the "lang=fr" attribute is not being retained.

 

So I added the "lang=fr" attribute to the <xh:html> tag in the "theme-plain.xsl" file, which I had already customized, and the calendar format is working again.

Hi Julien,

Perfect, I'm glad you got this working, and thanks for confirming. Having both `lang="fr"` and `xml:lang="fr"` is also what we use in Form Runner, which supports your approach.
