Opera is a global web innovator with an engaged and growing base of hundreds of millions of monthly active users who seek a better internet experience. Building on over 25 years of innovation that started with browser products, Opera is now leveraging its brand and highly engaged user base in order to expand its business into new segments. Today, Opera offers users around the world a range of products and services that include PC and mobile browsers, the newsreader Opera News, and apps dedicated to gaming, e-commerce and classifieds.

Opera is not one of our fully supported browsers so although you can install 1Password from the Chrome Webstore you won't be able to use the integration features such as Touch ID. That being said, points 2 and 3 should work. Can you try the steps below and let me know if it improves things:

Can you confirm if your browser and the 1Password extension are fully up to date? Are you experiencing trouble filling on all websites, or a specific one? If there's a specific site, can you provide us with website's URL?

Those are the versions. I believe I installed opera and 1password a few days ago. New to Opera, and mostly loving it other than 1password issue, and I posted a couple feature requests like being able to split tabs like you would split windows on a monitor, and the ability to set On Startup pages by workspace instead of only on the main workspace.

Same 3 items from description of this ticket. 1Password installs and then I have to enter password every time i open opera even if the 1Password app is already unlocked on my mac. Once unlocked it will try to suggest but clicking does nothing. And if i click the extension button i get a generic list of passwords not suggestions for the site i am on. I have had to use the 1 password app to copy paste into opera which is enough to push me back to safari. I have to use 1 password for work and have no option to use a different password manager. Otherwise i love opera!

The 1 password app is working better with your suggestions. It works perfectly in most browsers edge, chrome, safari, firefox it is kind of disappointing that Opera which has such great features blocks the connection to the 1 password app that allows it to integrate with the unlock features on the mac such as unlock with fingerprint and watch. Unfortunately entering passwords is a huge part of using the internet these days and 1password has become a popular solution for business where the users have no choice to change. Thank you all for your quick response, I hope a feature request for proper 1 password integration can make it into the queue to provide a better user experience for an app that is used by over 100k corp clients .

I'm new to Circle -- my child is using Opera as a browser and I noticed that even though I set his device to prohibit Instagram and Youtube he is still able to access them through the browser. Has anyone else encountered this? Suggestions on how to address browsers that have what I guess are built-in apps?

Thanks. I'm not very computer savvy. My kid is far more technologically advanced than I am already and taking AP Comp Sci, so I'm at a decided disadvantage. What browsers are easier to "lock down" to prevent adding a VPN or proxy? Does "disallowing VPN & Proxy" on Circle prevent adding a VPN (he could only get the "free" ones) if it's not already built in to the browser like with Opera?

Active focus pulling or 'window jumping'. I have 2 windows open in Opera browser, each have 5-10 tabs open. I have a Youtube playlist in one window for background. I have to leave it on that tab, otherwise some videos will pause & I won't be aware of it. Now, if I'm doing something in the second window - even if watching a video fullscreen, it automatically switches to the 1st window EVERY SINGLE TIME the next video in the playlist starts. It's incredibly annoying!

Resources. It used to be that it didn't use up too much (unlike Google Chrome for example). Hardware acceleration on - uses up a bunch of GPU. Sometimes that's fine, sometimes I need to disable it because it strains my GPU too much (gets too hot). Even with it disabled, Opera didn't drastically use more CPU. Now, even with hardware acceleration enabled, it uses 80% of CPU. And also uses a good sized amount of my GPU. So now my laptop lags quite a bit, especially if I'm trying to watch a video. This didn't happen before the update, & it just makes trying to use the browser harder & more frustrating.

@Tergin Hi, there is already a fix for this. I think in Opera you have to wait for the extension version 2023.10.1 (which was released two days ago but is at the moment not yet available in every browser).

I understand from reading a couple of the other topics that the Opera Browser is not officially supported, and that the extension does not work. My question is that it seems the browser itself does for most people since the topics I have been reading are getting the extension running and not the browser itself? I have tried to follow the workaround that was mentioned but when I tried it the plugin did not work. Referenced workaround being

I was starting on the steps above and was uninstalling Kaspersky and Opera at the same time, and the the uninstall for both errored for me. I do not remember the exact error but it was something .bin. Afterwards, no matter what I tried to do (including trying to use the system restore point) was giving me .bin errors, and telling the computer to shut down did nothing. I restarted by holding the physical button and logged back on to the same thing happening. I could not figure out how to do anything so I ended up reinstalling windows from a usb that I keep. On the plus side all browsers work fine now.

I am using Opera browser for many years. Now it is using Chrome engine since few years. I don't know why Eset BPP does not work with this browser even it is identified as Chrome/85.0.4183.121. Does anybody have a solution for my problem? I do not want to use Edge for my banking. I am using Win 10.

I use Opera as well but since Eset seemed to just use Chrome for BPP I used that for banking instead. Before the last update, when I entered the banking website in Chrome, it opened a separate secure window for banking. After the update (with all browsers secured) it no longer opens up a separate secure window for banking. Am I missing something?

If you enabled the "Secure all browsers" setting, you're already running in Protected browser mode. When you open Chrome, you should observe the web page border in green color indicating protected browser mode. Hence why no separate B&PP opening of Chrome web page when you visit your bank web site.

Personally, I don't understand this new "Secure all browsers" option. In the past, Eset specifically instructed that protected browser mode should not be used for every day web browser use. Additionally, this mode always on has caused issues for me in FireFox.

Every time I start Opera it asks if I want it to be my default browser. Today I clicked "yes" on accident, then had to go fix it. How do I stop it? A google search says there is a "check if Opera is default browser on startup" option, but that is an old answer and the settings page no longer looks like that.

Open the URL opera://flags/#set-as-default-browser in the browser to access "Set as default browser on the Speed Dial page" setting in the Experiments section and set it to Disabled to (hopefully) get rid of it.

The Opera web browser is a fully functional, standards-compliant web browser that has been around for 25 years. Please test and consider adjusting Panopto Capture to allow Opera users to record with it.

While it may not have the install base of Firefox or Chrome, Opera is perfectly capable of handling every task needed to use Panopto effectively - I've been using it exclusively as a Panopto admin for a while now. This includes RTP capture for using webcams and mics in online recordings, which is the technology that connects a webcam to a web browser. Unfortunately, Panopto's web capture tool blocks Opera, apparently because the browser is not named "Firefox" or "Chrome", rather than on whether or not it has RTP capabilities. I assure that it does have those capabilities as Opera works great with VoiceThread, which also uses RTP for its online recording and does not block Opera.

Opera Browser is a potent combination of speed, security, and customizability, making it a strong contender in the continually evolving browser market. With a sleek interface and an array of innovative features, Opera continually strives to redefine the browsing experience.

Unlike Google Chrome, Avast Secure Browser, or Mozilla Firefox, Opera Browser has been around since the mid-90s. Since its launch, this web browser has been an underdog with stable response from the public. Though there have been some huge changes in the browser industry, Opera has always enjoyed a good fan following. As compared to other web browsers, it offers a wide range of benefits.

While retaining the simple and clean interface, this classic browser comes with a wide range of features. With built-in support for messaging platforms like WhatsApp, Messenger, and Telegram, the web browser makes it easier to connect with friends and family. Moreover, it helps you avoid having to download a number of third-party extensions and clunky web interfaces to use these services.
