Special Characters Bug

A fix has been given to solve the problem of not able to enter some
special characters like & , + etc. But when some characters like
pound symbol (£) yen symbol (¥) comes up the data will get saved in
the database. But when the column which holds these data is shown in
the inbox. the inbox will show a xml error. I have attached the
screenshot of the error in the files section.
Workaround:
Do not show the column with the special character in the inbox..
