Hi All,
Please look in to the below and give your suggestion/replies...

As per  the update, with the standard oracle functionality only after the final close date of terminated employee single incubement position can assign to another  employee...
Requirement is to use the same position to new employee after the previous employee last working date/Actual termination date.
Is there any way to use the same position to the another employee with in the final close date, with out using Overlapping functionality and adjusting the final close date

Please update..

Yes.. You can give overlapping information at position level to assign the position to another employee.

Thanks for the reply,
Apart from the Overlapping, is it possible to do some form level personalization on  system in order to accomodate the requirement..

As the users not like to go for overlapas bec of counts , instead is it any possible way to use the same single incubement position inside the final close date for other employeee once after the prev emp termination.
your reply will be highly  appreciated..

Hi Sumesh,

When we had a similar kind of requirement where users wanted the information of approved head count to be clearly known and also wanted the system to hire a person in lieu of outgoing person, we did the following things.

1) We did use the overlapping functionality for single incumbent positions or even for shared positions where the FTE / headcount is already achieved to facilitate recruitment and also hiring someone into that position.

2) We built a report that specifies in one column the approved FTE / head count and in another column, the current occupancy number for every position.

3) We have another column that specifies the number of vacancies per position i.e. (Current Occupancy - approved FTE). If this is positive value, then we can go ahead with recruitment and if this is 0 and we need to recruit, then users will go enter overlapping period equivalent to the notice period of the outgoing person.

4) When overlapping duration is entered and incoming person is hired and this report is run again, we have a one column that shows approved head count, a second column that provides current occupancy, a third coulmn with the difference (if this is negative, there exists an overlapping information) and a fourth column, the overlapping duration end date, which is effective date on which overlapping duration is entered + the duration added to it.

With this approach, our users are clear with approved head count, they are able to hire people and also they know against which positions overlapping information exits and what the duration or when overlapping should end.

Not sure, if users will be open to this kind of work around but it is serving our business need and our users are happy using this approach.

All the best and please do share if you succeed in getting any other working solution / customisation free / personalization free solutions.

Best Wishes,
