Updating EIT Segments on the Workflow

Dear All,

I have a requirement, kindly provide your valuable suggestions..

Required to create eg.10 segments in the EIT, and  made last five segments read only on the initiator level.

Initiator will fill the first five segments and will submit to the workflow, say eg 5 levels of approval the same EIT  function have.

On each approval level remaining each segment need to be update by the approves..Each approves will be on  role based access and have couple of users on each role.Approval notification will access through same responsibility by all users...

Can any one help, how to to achieve this ie updating EIT segments on the notification levels by the approves, as same responsibility is using  to approve all the workflow notification...
