16 November, 1965 - Prime Minister Wilson (UK) requested UN support to end the rebellion, but by ruling out the use of force to end the rebellion his assertion of British responsibility for resolving the problem was negated.

16 November, 1969 - Rhodesia takes part in FIFA World Cup qualifying round against Australia in Laurenco Marques (now Maputo) Rhodesia and Australia drew the first two games, whist a third match was won by Australia by 3-1
