"French cinema, man. Quality guaranteed." Film Movement has unveiled an official US trailer for a quirky, fun little Indian film titled Adieu Godard, from award-winning filmmaker Amartya Bhattacharyya. After premiering at film festivals in 2021 it's finally arriving on VOD in the US this month. Here's the amusing concept: An old man in a small village in India is addicted to watching pornography with his friends. One fine day, he accidentally brings home a DVD with a Jean-Luc Godard film inside. Though his friends were disgusted, Ananda gets attracted to Godard's film and gradually develops an obsession. He initiates the idea of hosting a film festival in their village where Godard's films will be screened. The festival gets organized after a lot of drama, but what happens next is something else... "We can change the culture of this village." Starring Choudhury Bikas Das as Ananda, with Sudhasri Madhusmita, Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Swastik Choudhury, and Abhishek Giri. This looks so perfectly wacky and kooky yet at the same time is paying tribute to transformative power of cinema. Yeah I think I need to watch this - don't write this one off.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's last Hindi film Kabir Singh had created a lot of noise right after it was released. From being accused of glorifying toxic masculinity to people slamming Vanga for justifying domestic violence, the film caused an uproar in the entire nation.

It didn't actually start after the release of the trailer. However, the controversy began months before it when a leaked photo from the film went viral on social media. First of all, take a look at the photo below.

People were surprised to see Hakenkreuz, a symbol used as the emblem of the German Nazi party, a Nazi swastika. Another thing that left them perplexed was two people seen doing the Hitler salute. Also called the Nazi salute, it is performed by extending the right arm from the shoulder into the air with a straightened hand.

In one of the scenes, as shown in Animal trailer, Ranbir Kapoor deliver an angry speech in which he tells hundreds of people, "Jisne bhi papa par goli chalayi... Balbir Singh pe goli chalayi... mai vaada karta hun... I will slit his throat."

Some users pointed out that the "Shakti, Pagati, Vijay" written in the background was a slogan used by India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru during the independence movement to motivate people and instill a feeling of national pride.
