I'm looking to give a demo for a 2 hour session on Performance Tuning
Overview and I was trying to think of a good exampled/demo I could
give in class.

Anyone have any good SQL Statements for the HR Schema?

I'm looking for changes that will hit the buffer hit cacho ratio
change/Library Cache Hit Ration or a Buffer Busy Wait, before and
after?

Example

1. Query DB of what the Buffer Hit Cache, Library Cache, Buffer Busy
Waits are
2. Insert A Lot of Data - 5 Minutes
3. Run another Query of the DB Stats
4. Run Various Select, Update, Delete, Insert Statements
5. Run another Query of the DB Stats
6. Make Changes to the DB Buffer Cache or whatever is needed
7. Run another Query of the DB Stats
8. Run Various Select, Update, Delete, Insert Statements

Doesn't need to anything fancy, I'm going to talk more about the idea
of performance tuning but I thought if I could give them a demo that
might be a nice touch.

Are you seriously teaching the buffer hit cache ratio? Can you even
spell it? Are you being paid to do this? You are teaching this and
can't come up with a simple example on your own? What am I missing
here?

Sorry for the rudeness, but you've posted something rude to step into.

See http://jonathanlewis.wordpress.com/2007/09/05/hit-ratios-2/ (The
connor website doesn't seem to be up for me, the script to set bchr to
whatever you want should be findable elsewhere with a google.)

A quick browse of the documentation revealed this:

Google is your friend ...

You might also want to read this:

since the BCHR is no longer a viable tool for performance evaluation/
tuning.
