JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Client
supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and
defense markets.
- Engines to landing gear; from satellites to medical
implants and from missiles to unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
- Client
brings industry-leading electronic and hydraulic subsystems for landing
gear together in solutions that add value and offer superior
performance our customers can count on.
- We
employ Lean manufacturing techniques to optimize manufacturing
efficiency and accuracy on all product lines.
- Our
products are known for their technical strength, proven reliability and
overall value.
- You
will be responsible for leading, developing and managing the Software
engineers in our Landing Systems Solution.
- Determine
resources and processes needed to support the group.
- Plan, organize, control, and lead multiple projects for the design and
development of landing systems products.
- Provide direction and guidance to project teams.
- Ensure standardization of products and processes across multiple projects.
- Anticipate and resolve major program obstacles to maintain overall programs
objectives.
- Maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Fully support
and implement Client’s fair employment practices in hiring,
development and promotion of employees.
- Develop and manage the Intellectual Capital of software engineers and
software department.
- Conduct regular 1 on 1 meetings with staff and perform annual
performance appraisals.
- Support DO-178 software certification audits.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Minimum seven
(7) years of experience in safety critical software
development and verification in the aerospace/defense
industry.
- Working knowledge of practical managerial
techniques, leadership and financial management as well as all factors
affecting business results.
- Proven leadership, process improvement and people management
skills.
- A
thorough knowledge of DO-178 is required,
including, configuration planning, development, verification management
and quality assurance.
- Candidate
should have demonstrated knowledge of the safety critical
embedded life cycle, from requirements definition through
certification.
- Must
be proficient in Requirements
Management and tools (such as DOORS), Model Based Development (SCADE
or Simulink), Structural Coverage Analysis and tools (such as LDRA,
RTRT), Configuration Management and tools (Synergy, PVCS).
- Must be
proficient in C and with
the use of debuggers and emulators.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical
Engineering or
related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing/office
environment.
