Important Note:
This is NOT a Project Manager, Technical Developer, Coding, Architecture, or IT Engineering role. We are seeking a strong communicator with experience in data management, coordination, and stewardship activities.
Job Description:
The Enterprise Data Steward will support VDOT’s Data Program by partnering with assigned data stewards across the agency to strengthen data management practices, improve data quality, and prepare datasets for quality measurement within the data governance tool.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate regular meetings with division-level data stewards
• Guide teams through stewardship and governance activities
• Assist with scoping documentation and data dictionary development
• Support data quality improvement initiatives
• Coordinate and coach stakeholders on data management best practices
• Collaborate with business units to ensure governance standards are followed
Required Skills:
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Experience with data management and data governance concepts
• Ability to work with cross-functional business teams
• Experience creating documentation and data dictionaries
• Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills
Work Authorization:
Valid work authorization required.
