Senior Solutions Architect

Location: Chippewa Falls, WI or Minnesota (Day-1 Onsite)
Duration: Long-term

Visa: Any visa is fine.

Summary:
Looking for a senior-level architect who has hands-on development experience, has moved into solution architecture, and has experience designing enterprise applications, cloud solutions, and technology roadmaps.

 

Who is Fit:

  • 10+ years of IT experience
  • Current or recent Solution Architect, Senior Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Technical Architect
  • Strong background in application development before moving into architecture
  • Experience with Java or Python
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or MongoDB
  • Has designed large-scale business applications and technology solutions
  • Comfortable working with business leaders, product teams, and developers

 

Ideal Background:

·         Software Developer → Technical Lead → Solution Architect

·         Cloud Engineer → Cloud Architect → Solution Architect

 

Must Have:

  • Architecture and solution design experience
  • Java or Python background
  • Cloud experience
  • Database knowledge
  • Strong communication with both technical and business teams

 

Not a Fit (Very Important):

·         AWS Solutions Architects focused mainly on cloud migrations, landing zones, cloud operations, infrastructure setup, security, networking, or platform engineering.

·         Cloud Architects whose experience is primarily AWS/Azure/GCP infrastructure design.

·         Candidates whose architecture experience is limited to hosting, deployment, cloud operations, monitoring, or infrastructure support.

·         Candidates whose experience is mainly project coordination, delivery management, or team management without solution design responsibilities.

·         Developers who have remained purely hands-on and have never owned end-to-end architecture decisions.

·         Infrastructure, network, or system administrators who have not designed business applications or enterprise solutions.

·         DevOps or Cloud Engineers whose work is limited to deployment, automation, or platform support rather than architecture design.

·         Data Engineers, Data Analysts, BI Developers, and Data Architects whose experience is primarily focused on data platforms and reporting.

·         QA/Test Engineers with no architecture or application design experience.

·         Candidates with less than 10 years of total IT experience.

·         Candidates who have never created architecture roadmaps, solution designs, technology standards, or system modernization plans.

 

Mandatory Experience:

The candidate must have a proven history of designing enterprise applications and business solutions, making technology selection decisions, creating architecture roadmaps, guiding development teams, and partnering with business stakeholders.

 

Screening Question:

"What enterprise applications or business platforms have the candidate architected from a business and application perspective?"

 

If the discussion quickly shifts to AWS services, cloud migration, networking, infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD, servers, or platform operations rather than business applications and enterprise solution design, the candidate is likely not a fit.
