I have a fairly robust network in ORA and I am coloring/sizing/positioning nodes and links based on attributes and measures. Currently, I am using the Attribute/Measure Related Options under the Node Appearance tab in an attempt to hide nodes based on centrality measure. I click the drop-down arrow and select the Eigenvector values for which I wish to "Show Node(s)" yet upon clicking Apply Changes, nothing happens. The same issue was occurring with the Size Node by Attribute or Measure option. The Color Node by Attribute or Measure options works fine.

Could this be a bug in the program?

Dear Melonie

Thanks for raising this point. I have also faced the same issue and actually uploaded a newer version recently (again 64 bit) based on feedback but I could not fix it.

Interestingly enough I did not have these problems before with the 32 bit version, it all started when I moved to 64 bit so I wonder whether it could be related to the 64 bit version and thus be a bug indeed.

I also look forward to getting some feedback on this. All the best Murat

Okay. Is there any workaround you can think of that would allow me to display a subset of nodes in my network without using the Attribute/Measure Related Options tab? I have them marked by an attribute value - Say  there are 6,000 nodes in the network; I need to visualize about 600 of them.

Do you have any suggestions of how I can do this with that function not working?

That has been fixed and will appear in the next version. It should be
released sometime in next 1.5 months.

Thanks for the bug report.  It was a known issue and a fix has already been submitted.  Should appear in the next installer.

If you want to display only a certain subset of nodes, I would recommend Tools -> Node Selector.

If you click on the tab for the nodeset of interest, you see a view similar to that of the matrix editor.  You can use the search space to specify a specific attribute you're interested in, or you can click on the attribute header to see only specific attribute values.  The select visible button selects only the nodes visible in the matrix.  Using those you should be able to select nodes of a specific attribute value.

In the bottom part, you'll notice a "Visibility Tab".  Clicking the "Show Only Checked Items" option will show only the nodes you have selected.

Should accomplish what you're looking for.
