A quick thought concerning the present state of Oregon state cultural
life, in fine fettle here in Portland Metro (even if a certain
*document* suggested otherwise): many people around the world have
been *intrigued* by the unique prospects offered by Portland's
intellectual history, resources, and "cultural life" but the nation's
*10th* largest state has "more to go around" and ways to get there:
the very well-designed I-5 and I-84, and our national "flagship
carrier" Amtrak's superior service for the state of Oregon. Many now
know that the Cascades train can now take you directly to our
"neighbor to the north", Vancouver, BC: but we *already* knew that the
two-and-a-half-hour trip from "PDX" to Eugene-Springfield was a very
pleasant way to relax and experience Eugene's *unique* intellectual
and artistic life.

However, Amtrak's "Thruway" *bus* service provides service to many
other locations in Oregon, including the rapid *et* genteel Hood
River: perhaps a place for an "artist's colony" in the, uh,
traditional sense. Other more "generic" options exist, and there is no
reason why any *particular* cachet must attach to our northern
*capital* (money) rather than the "works and days" of Oregonians in
general: and even, I suppose, what-all they like. *Salud*.

A thought express on the thought *in relief* upon the title: although
certain "parts of classes" might indeed not be welcome in a great
experiment to precisely and reliably transmit the heritage of world
culture to a responsible Republic, *prote philosophia* is not merely a
substitute for *psychiatrique en castellano* and other delights of the
"multi-valent" age: the ontology of various "transits" not patented by
Thomas Pynchon -- shall we say -- the validity of thoughts deriving
from an "index of reality" -- shall we say -- *implicit* in the very
structure of our works and days (and pavements) *certainly* must be a
"sure thing" if we are to, uh, continue existing on this Earth for
"the remains of the day"; and it is *thusly* very much worth-while to
seriously consider how much knowledge is delivered unto us by
"subrepted topology" and other wonders of established academic
"circuits" - which may cause us to indeed doubt what is born amidst
the green and pleasant land of the West Coast.

Update 2021:
Tired of this; "One of these days, I'm gonna leave this place/go somewhere and join the human race"
Kinda especially of "Kate Brown sparkly charm" and other dangerous quantities.

Probably just the truth that "Our Oregon" kinds of thoughts fail to impress every time.
So...

2022 Update: Oh, that's bloated. (Maybe we *thought* we were taught to think like that growing up here.)

...and it's a state, not a "province". (Little mistakes.)
