Rosh Hashanah Announcements

September 22nd-24th, 2025  |  1-2 Tishrei, 5786

Please enjoy this bird themed, AI generated poem related to Rosh Hashanah.

Wings of the New Year

At dawn of the year, the shofar cries,
A golden hush beneath morning skies.
Birdsong rises with prayers in the breeze,
Whispers of mercy float through the trees.

Feathers flicker near apple and hive,
Symbols of sweetness and souls alive.
The sparrow circles the river wide,
Watching our sins on the waters glide.

In orchards of hope, the robins call,
As leaves begin their gentle fall.
New wings beat with a sacred tone—
A year begins, yet not alone.

Announcements

Shanah tovah u'metukah! The leadership of the Minyan wishes the entire community a happy, healthy, and sweet 5786!

Last chance to buy tickets for Rosh Hashanah! Harvard Hillel asks members of our community and guests (with the exception of current Harvard students) to purchase tickets in order to attend Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services. Ticket sales help cover the costs of all that Hillel provides for us year round. If the ticket price is too much for you, please select "other" and give what you can.

New to the community? If you’re new to the community, please share your information here to connect with fellow newcomers and receive invitations from community members eager to host.

Sign up to help with kiddush! Having a robust kiddush committee is key to having the wonderful kiddush each week we've become accustomed to. Please fill out this form to volunteer to help with kiddush in the future!

Camberville Eruv: The Camberville Eruv is in need of new checkers! The eruv is divided into 3 sections, with checkers specializing in one of the sections. Currently, one section is understaffed. It is covered by only two teams of checkers, which means these volunteers have to check every other week! Are you able to help out and volunteer to check the eruv? Typically, the commitment is to check once every 3-4 weeks, but there is some flexibility with this. Please let the eruv leadership team know if you are interested or have any questions by emailing Amy Robert at info...@nceruv.org

Please familiarize yourself with Harvard Hillel's exits in case of emergency. In addition to the main staircase, there are exits through the door behind the men's section and through the door to the left of the elevator. In continuation of last week’s other news, She's my cousin! - She is? - Yes, we're all cousins. - Right. You're right. - At Honex, we constantly strive to improve every aspect of bee existence. These bees are stress-testing a new helmet technology. - What do you think he makes? - Not enough. Here we have our latest advancement, the Krelman. - What does that do? - Catches that little strand of honey that hangs after you pour it. Saves us millions.
