JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Java to support a global pharmaceutical client operating in a GxP-regulated environment. The selected candidate will work with an established Agile/Scrum team responsible for building and maintaining high-availability enterprise applications that support critical business and operational processes.

This role requires strong expertise in Java enterprise development and Oracle database engineering, with a focus on performance tuning, system stability, and scalable application architecture within compliance-driven Life Sciences environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

·         Design, develop, and optimize Oracle stored procedures, functions, and packages using PL/SQL

·         Analyze and tune complex SQL queries, review execution plans, and resolve performance bottlenecks

·         Use Oracle AWR reports and SQL Plan Management (SQL Plan Baselines) for database performance analysis and optimization

·         Develop and maintain Java-based enterprise applications using Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data)

·         Build and support RESTful APIs, transaction management, and dependency injection frameworks

·         Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot applications within Oracle WebLogic Server environments

·         Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives

·         Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and support automated build and deployment processes

·         Collaborate with QA, infrastructure, validation, and business teams to ensure compliance with GxP standards

·         Support validation documentation, audit readiness, and regulated SDLC processes

·         Ensure enterprise systems remain high-performing, scalable, and highly available

 

Required Qualifications

·         8+ years of experience in software engineering with Java and Oracle

·         Strong expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development

·         Experience with Oracle AWR analysis and SQL Plan Management

·         Hands-on experience with Java Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data)

·         Experience building applications in high-availability, high-transaction enterprise environments

·         Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and using Jira for sprint management

·         Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices

·         Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills

·         Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration abilities

 

Preferred Qualifications

·         Experience deploying applications on Oracle WebLogic Server

·         AWS cloud exposure (application hosting, database connectivity, or migration)

·         Prior experience in GxP-regulated Life Sciences environments (Pharma, Biotech, or Medical Devices)
