Position: Splunk Admin / Developer (This Is More of Admin Position)

Location: San Jose CA

Duration: 6 months+

SPLUNK resource is expected to do following tasks: 

•       Must be Hands-On 

•       Design solutions and concepts for data aggregation and visualization.

•       Splunk deployment, configuration and maintenance across a variety of UNIX and Windows platforms.

•       Troubleshoot Splunk server problems and issues. 

•       Analyze logs for the all major applications and come up with most affected areas or reoccurring issues.

•       Create / Customize dashboards and views.

•       Write all sorts of queries and views

•       Must be able to onboard subscribers and manage the integration with subscriber applications.

•       Should be able to give demo for other teams as SPLUNK specialists. 

•       Any questions asked by the pilots/implementation they should be answerable 

•       Should be able to install SPLUNK on Linux machines.

•       Should have working experience in Java Technologies

•       Certification (power user/ admin) is preferred

Ø  Understand data vendor's product specification and release/update notes, identify critical/important change, communicate to dev team

Ø  Understand product's business/license requirement, convert to product acceptance criterial and communicate with dev team

Ø  For new region/new country, add pipeline dependent local knowledge (Admin mapping & Phone Prefix & Category Mapping) following process.

Ø  Understand poi data model and pipeline compilation process

Ø  Understand how to evaluate poi content quality and be able to use tool and approach to evaluate content quality.

Ø  Proficient on using SQL, familiar with Postgres/PGAdmin

Ø  Familiar with Poi Work DB/release DB schema, able to investigate data issue or perform statistics task using sql.

Ø  Capable of investigating data related issue, evaluate the impact

Ø  Capable of fixing data issue by performing SQL repair on final DB

Ø  Familiar with grouping problem, Understand Grouping approach basic, be able to investigate single cases and evaluate grouping quality

Responsibilities and Duties:

The System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, documenting, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related IT infrastructure. This individual provides helpdesk, L2/L3 support, end user training, and ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards. 

Work skills: 

Install, configure and support the following: 

• Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows Server 2012 (R2), Windows 7 and 10 

• Backend Applications: Microsoft Exchange, MS SQL, Symantec Enterprise Vault, IIS, 

• Storage: Netapps, AWS S3 

• Virtual Technology: VMware 

• Mobile Technology: Mobile Iron, IOS and Android 

• Telephony: VoIP and both desktop and multisite video conferencing support 

• Messaging: Microsoft Exchange, Outlook (Office365 experience is a plus) 

• Collaboration Tools: File Exchange/Sharing, DFS, Box
