Hi all,

I've just published a new version on Google Play. It's quite a substantial update since it now implements the Android ActionBar (introduced for Android 3, but I used the ActionBar Sherlock so will be backwards compatible with Android 2 phones too) so there are quite a lot of navigation updates. For this reason, I've just published as a beta version for now, until we've had enough people test it out to be sure it's all working as expected. For info, Ronald - this should fix the issues you had with using a phone with no menu button.

If you would like to be a beta tester for OppiaMobile and try out the latest features first then please sign up here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/org.digitalcampus.mobile.learning

Cheers,
Alex

Thanks for this release.

I have signed up as a beta tester and upgraded, everything is working as expected. I will keep testing and provide feedback.

Thanks and Regards

Hi Alex,

I got the opportunity to test the beta version of oppiamobile please find some feedback below:

1. Course navigation
It will be good to introduce swipe forward and back when going through the course similar to the release candidate.  In our use case it will be difficult for our users to navigate the course pages from the top menu. If possible keep the top navigation bar as well, works well for topics with few sections. With more than 3 sections you get a long drop down menu.

Thanks and Regards
Ronald Munjoma

Thanks Ronald... yes this on on my to-do list to get the swipe navigation back up and running.

Cheers,
Alex

I just posted up an updated beta version to the play store, so those of you signed up as beta tested should get prompted to download this new version in the next day or so. The key update is much nicer swiping between the different activities, but still have some more testing and work to do before it'll be ready for releasing properly.

Cheers,
Alex
