A question I received via email so am posting here in case useful for others:
Question: is there a way to have a user take a quiz before they use the rest of the materials in a course?
Reply: Yes, the way to do this is to put the quiz in the 'Topic 0' part of the Moodle course (so in the section where there is an automatically created News activity). When the course is exported the quiz in this section will be treated as a baseline/pre-test that users must complete before they have access to view any of the rest of the course activities on the mobile. Users currently only get one chance to complete the pre-test (unless they 'reset' the course on their mobile). Also currently the app only supports a single quiz as the baseline (you can't have multiple quizzes as you can in the rest of the course sections)
