Hi Alex,

I am guessing for some devices there is a menu, I am using a Samsung Tab 2 7 inch tablet with no menu and I can not access the settings button which I guess should be available.

If that is the case I propose we add an  'action bar'; on devices without menu buttons,

Thanks and Regards

Hi Ronald,

Thanks for this  - yes would be a good idea, I think there are many more phones nowadays which don't have the menu button - but I'd not realised this made the menu completely inaccessible - I'd assumed there was an alternative way to open the menu.

I've added it to the bug/issue tracker here: https://github.com/DigitalCampus/oppia-mobile-android/issues/204

Cheers,
Alex

You are welcome

On the Samsung Tab 2 7 inch, I have not yet figured out how to open the menu, thus I can not install any new courses.

Good news is I managed to install my own courses for testing using the manual method.

Thanks Ronald,

I've started work on a new branch to implement the android action bar  which should make these options available even when there isn't a menu button. Not sure how long it;s going to take as I need to ensure it'll still work well on older version of Android too (v2.2+)

Cheers,
Alex

Thats good, no worries about the timeline,  our project should be starting sometime next year. We have not invested in the bulk of the project devices as well.
