Hi all,
It was brought to our attention that there may be ongoing attempts of impersonating one or more Oppia mentors in order to gain access to proposal drafts. We want to be absolutely clear: this is
unacceptable behavior and may result in immediate disqualification from consideration in Oppia GSoC and reported to the Google Summer of Code admins who may decide to permanently ban such individuals from ever participating in GSoC in the future. This behavior violates: Oppia's
Code of Conduct, Oppia's
rules around original submissions, GSoC's
Contributor Participant Agreement, and GSoC's
rules for contributors (which expects contributors to adhere to organizations' codes of conduct).
If you are working on a proposal draft, you should
only share it with
gsoc-202...@oppia.org (cc'd on this thread). If you notice anyone trying to request access to your document and you do not know who they are, please forward the request to access email to
gsoc-2026-...@oppia.org so that we can take necessary action.
Participating in GSoC is a privilege and learning opportunity, and making both possible requires us to foster a community of collaboration and honesty. This is behavior we never want to see in the community and will not tolerate.
Please feel free to reach out to the org admins if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks,
Ben (on behalf of the Oppia 2026 GSoC org admins)
