Riverbed is pleased to announce the availability of Riverbed Modeler Academic Edition 17.5 PL6. This release is created for introductory level networking courses. This release replaces IT Guru Academic Edition for educational users who want to utilize simulation software for networking classes. Riverbed Modeler Academic Edition incorporates tools for all phases of a study, including model design, simulation, data collection, and data analysis.

IT Guru Acaemic Edition 9.1 (Currently EOL) was available for university users for introductory level networking courses, and designed and tested to be used with classroom lab manuals. With the latest release of Riverbed Modeler Academic Edition to replace IT Guru Academic Edition 9.1, some of the legacy labs may still be useful in simulating and understanding networking principles using this software.

Some of the popular lab material that was originally created for IT Guru Academic Edition, but may also be used with Riverbed Modeler Academic Edition are located the in the SteelCentral NetPlanner Academic Edition subspace. Please note that these tutorials and labs will reference IT Guru Academic Edition, and some of workflows/names might even be different since Riverbed Modeler Academic Edition will feature numerous product enhancements.
