Hi,

I am getting following error while running tutorials which involves
custom network/node/process model.
I have changed Discrete Event Simulation -> Network Simulation
Repositories to () //empty. But it doesn't solve the problem. Error
comes only for custom model/process tutorial and process compilation
is ok. For standard model, it doesn't show any error with Network
Simulation Repositories with (stdmod).

Any help...

FAQ ID: 2318
Question: When compiling and linking a simulation in OPNET Modeler, I
receive the following error 'Error encountered rebuilding repository'.
How do I get more information to troubleshoot this error.
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Answer: Compilation errors appear for a variety of reasons and can be
complex to troubleshoot.

If you receive an error in your simulation log similar to the
following message:
........................................................................................
<<< Program Abort
>>>.....................................................
Error encountered rebuilding repository -- unable to proceed..
T (0), EV (-), MOD (NONE), PROC (sim_load_repos_load)...
.......................................................................................

this will generally be accompanied by a file that has more details
about the actual error. For instance, you will find a message similar
to the following when you see the above 'Program Abort' message.

Errors reported by the binder program follow
(these messages have been saved in (D:\Documents and Settings\username
\op_admin\tmp\bind_err_4016)

This error file is the best place to start troubleshooting.

Hi,

Thanks.

Problem was solved after creating "tmp" folder (with full permission
of this folder) within /tmp. Reason was following part of error: (As
it couldn't create tmp folder inside /tmp, repbind.8572 file was not
created)

------------------------------------------------------------
<<< Recoverable Error >>>
Repository construction failed
Unable to open temporary file (/tmp/tmp/repbind.8572)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gulmina,
This is good solution. Worked for me.
Wonder why OpNet did not set stdmod as default.
Thanks,
sc
