COMMUNITY LIFE
Ash Wednesday Service: Join us Wednesday, February 10th for the beginning of Lent. We will gather at 6:00 PM in the Activity Center for a simple meal of soup and salad. Then, we will turn our attention to the Ash Wednesday service around the tables. Our focus is The Power and Meaning of the Cross. This is an important time in the life of our church, as we launch a church-wide emphasis on the importance of Jesus' death. Children, youth and adults are invited and will participate.
Mesdames Meeting: Thursday, February 11 - 10:00 AM in the church's Fellowship Hall. Karen Kochendorfer will speak to us about her trip to China. All ladies are invited.
Lenten Church-Wide Covenant Life Groups Begin February 14: Sign-up sheets are available in the foyer. Small group studies for children, youth and adults will journey to the foot of the Cross through the weekly study, which coincides with the Sunday sermon. The Lenten theme, Blood: The Power of Crucifixion, will study the biblical images and understandings of Christ's death for us.
District T.E.A.M. Day, Saturday, February 27, 8 AM – 1 PM at Olathe College Church. (Coffee at 7:30, onsite registration at 8). You will be challenged with relevant workshops for children, youth and adult ministries. Contact the church office by February 15th, if you would like to attend.
Chili Cook-Off & Auction: Our second annual Chili Cook-Off and Silent Auction will take place on Saturday, March 5th at 6:00 PM. This will be a fun evening of food, friends, and goodies. All money raised benefits youth activities and camp for the coming year. We are accepting sign-ups for chili and contributions to the silent auction. For more information, see Pastor Travis. Thank you for supporting our teens!
The children's department is in need of 40-50 empty (one dozen) egg cartons. Please bring your donations to Karla Christy by March 12th.
Inclement Weather and Cancellations: All church ministry cancellations due to inclement weather will be broadcast on major local TV networks: KMBC 9, KCTV 5, Fox 4, KSHB 41 and communicated through an all-church email as soon as a decision is made. You may also check the church’s website at www.opnazarene.org and Facebook page for information.

Pulse: This week is Ash Wednesday. Please come with your entire family as we share a meal and enter the season of Lent together.
Super Bowl Party, Feb. 7: Invite your friends to our annual Super Bowl Party
at the Hamners tonight. Please plan to meet at 5:15 PM and bring a snack
and drink to share.
Connect Groups: On February 21st, Connect Groups will take place at Ben Johnson's house from 6:30-8:30 PM. Please bring a snack and drink to share. We will share a meal and reflect on the season of Lent together.
CHILDREN MINISTRIES
Children, first thru fifth grade will remain in the service today.
