Reminder: Work Day, Saturday, October 10, 8:30 AM:  Please plan to come and help us keep our church property properly maintained and looking good. We will be doing some painting inside the church to freshen several areas.  Please bring a paint brush or paint roller & pan, if you have them.   Contact John Harms for more information.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Thank you for your Faith Promise pledges! In the first week, 22 families pledged to give $10,275 over the next year. We know God will work through your faithfulness! If you are still praying about what to pledge, cards available in the bulletin and in the lobby can be placed in the offering plate or handed to an usher.

Vacation Note: Our secretary, Vicki Black, is on vacation October 10-25. Jonathan Pelton and Elizabeth Leach will be filling in for her in the office.  Pastor Travis is also away on vacation, October 9-13.

 

Wednesday Night Book Study continues this Wednesday evening at 6:45 PM: Plan now to attend a six-week study on Dan Boone’s book, “Charitable Discourse.”  Pastor Vicki (later joined by Pastor Phil) will lead the study on this book that teaches us how to talk about the divisive issues of our day.  More information and a sign-up list are at a table in the foyer.

 

Wednesday Night Meals, 6:00 PM in the Activity Center: Come for good food and fellowship around the table.  ELL, Adult, Youth, and Children’s programming will follow.  Donation is $5 per person or $15 max per family.

 

During October we pause to express appreciation to our pastors for their care for us. It is difficult to adequately thank them for how selflessly and faithfully they offer their lives to us in ministry. Please take advantage of this month for an extra thank you, stop and pray with a pastor, send a note saying how much they mean to you, and in other specific ways thank God for these dedicated servants. All-church Renewal Sunday, November 8: We will welcome Rev. Al Dicer as our speaker for services of renewal and challenge.  Mark your calendars for this important Sunday!

 

Save the Date: During the weekend of January 17, 2016, our church will celebrate its 50th anniversary. More details will come in the future.

 

PULSE & ONE MINISTRIES

 

Connect Groups:  Connect Groups will be hosted at the Decker's home tonight (Sunday) from 6:30-8:30pm. Please bring a snack or drink to share with everyone. It will be a special night so please try to attend!

Pulse: Over the next month and a half, we will be participating in a special discussion on some important contemporary issues facing the Church. This would be a great opportunity for families to engage in conversations together. Please join us as we study A Charitable Discourse.

 

Student Events: Pastors Travis and Rachel love to attend your games, concerts, and other extra-curricular events. Please give us a copy of your schedules so we can cheer you on!

 

CHILDREN MINISTRIES

Children, first thru fifth grade will remain in the service today (Sunday).

 

Wednesdays for Kids, Pre-K through 5th grade: Join us from 6:45-8:15 PM for a middle of the week Bible Lesson and fun activities.

 

Dads!  It's your turn for a night out!  Mark your calendar for Thursday, October 22nd!  More details to follow.
