After last Android app update (i guess to 1.86.0.6) on kid's device a pop-up showed asking whether I want to activate some new setting/feature. First option was to activate it, second to keep current behavior (something with 2-finger swipe gesture???). I chose the first option. Since that time an icon in the edge of the screen is overlaid on the device screen (showing always, overlaying everything, all apps). The icon is shown in screenshot attached (marked in red - bottom left). I want to get rid of that icon because it is disturbing. Please provide me with instruction how to hide the icon. Thanks.
KSK 1.86.0.6) on kid's device. KSK icon in the edge of the screen is overlaid on the device screen (showing always, overlaying everything, all apps). The icon is shown in screenshot attached (marked in red - bottom left). I tried to find app settings to disable the icon but did not succeed. Nothing happens when I tap the icon.
this is on Realme 8i, running latest OS for that device - Android 12.0 with RealmeUI 3.0. If i tap and hold the icon I can move the icon around the screen but when I release it, it will again stick to the nearest screen edge. There is no icon management menu opening after any action as this does not seem to be ordinary launcher app icon but rather some feature of KSK much like the Facebook Messenger discussion icons that one can use (these are permanent overlay too).
First of all, there's 2 kinds of Accessibility permission: The main permission that must be turned on for app to work properly and the "shortcut" permission to display overlay icon which function is to easily turned off and on the main Accessibility permission.
Did you see the two ugly overlay icons over there? The overlay icon for Kaspersky AV also can't be removed/turned off with the method @Flood and Flood's wife suggested, same as KSK overlay icon. However, I can remove it by turning off Kaspersky AV shortcut Accessibility permission and it won't disturb Kaspersky AV main Accessibility permission.
I did not read the previous replies yet but I got the problem on one more device - a brand new Poco M5s. Unboxed device, Android 12 + Miui 13.0.1.0 was there. Installed KSK (restored apps from old mobile via Google cloud account backup - not physically copying from old device - KSK automatically installed by Google, but I doubt any app settings was transferred). No overlay icon yet. Updated device to Miui 13.0.3.0 (2x security patch) and after device restart (and without starting KSK manually), the troubling KSK icon appeared!!! KSK has still no account configured, still clean install!
I do confirm that turning off the accessibility button does remove the icon. This button can either be turned off globally or per app. However the KSK accessibility setting seems to only contain the button and not general accessibility switch, which other apps (Microsoft Family Safety) still do have so I think KSK fretures that use accessibility may be broken now.
We agree we both your son & your - in our opinion - the *floating shortcut* has to be one of the dumbest things Kaspersky has ever implemented - when it was first release it drove us & our kids to despair - we've since got rid of it - we only have a miniscule KSK icon in the bottom right of the screen - it interferes with nothing, it's not intrusive at all - see image at the end of our reply
I just started learning how to develop for Android a few days ago, so I'm still in the process of learning all the ins and out of the environment. Recently, I finished writing the functionality for a basic Contacts app and decided to turn to fixing some of the finer points of the UI. I have been trying for the last couple of days to change the launcher icon for the app from the default Android icon Default Icon to one that I selected Selected Icon. However, nothing I seem to try will allow the icon I selected to appear on the device I am testing on.
But this solution did not work. I also tried deleting the default icon from the drawable folder(I also saved a copy of it elsewhere) but it still showed the default Icon on the device screen. I then tried to uninstall the application on the device in order to clear all the cache files, but was met with the same outcome. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
I suspect you have not deleted all the versions of default icon. In android there is a icon for each screen density in drawable-mdpi, drawable-hdpi, etc folder. Hence search for that file and remove it from all the folders and try again.
Had the same issue. Deleted the old icons (maybe you only removed them from project not deleted them? I dont know) and tried building. It threw errors wherever the old icon was referenced so I was able to trace the issue. Also removing the old and adding the new with the same name (Icon.png) worked for me
It's just a helpful pinned shortcut icon. Much like pinning icons to a Windows PC taskbar. It's up to personal preference if you want to keep the icon there, or just open the app with the usual app icon.
I just upgrade my phone to a Pixel 3aXL and it is running Android 10. I previously connected an older phone running Android 8 with no problem. The icon would show whenever I plugged it in. I have Developer Mode enabled on the phone and my Windows 10 machine detects it just fine. I am running Godot 3.1.1
A couple of weeks I had to confirm a dialogue on android that enpass may display stuff in front of other apps - then this weird button (photos) with the enpass logo appeared and I have no clue where I can turn it off. It seems kinda useless, does nothing, not even on a Website with a form to fill. It can either float in the middle of the screen, can be docked to the left or right side of the screen and can also be minimized by swiping to the corresponding side.
Hi all, can someone please tell me how to turn off the ESET symbol on my android device's screen. Not the ESET app icon but the slightly irritating floating symbol as per the attached screenshot. When i select it nothing happens anyway so i can't see any reason for it.
That should be it, but I had to restart my phone afterwards before the icon went away completely. If anyone has questions I will try to answer just let me know. Also I have the Google Pixel 6 Pro as a phone in case you wanted that information.
Android Studio has built in tool to test adaptive icons. As well as variety online tools.
Icons may seem zoomed in, because of cropping. Usually background image can be discarded and only circular center part of foreground would remain with various cropping settings. Please, check our guide and links in it:
It has a real example from one of my games showing where Adaptive Icons can do very bad things to icons designed for games. When you see this, it will help you understand why you need some padding around your core art.
Two entries will be present in CCleaner entry, an on/off switch (this should be on as it's needed for CCleaner to operate as intended), and "CCleaner shortcut", which does not need to be on; try turning that off and see if this removes the floating button. (It may then be replaced by another icon if there's more apps that have this shortcut turned on, the process would be the same for them.)
Bonus: that @color/colorAccent is pulled from the variables.scss --ion-color-primary so the notification is colored when you pull the notification tray down. (its white while the top notification bar which follows the android design spec)
After going through some other questions like this, I first tried the Tools > Create Desktop Entry method. It did create an entry on the dash, but somehow Android Studio does not launch by clicking on it. If it's of any help, I am pasting the jetbrains-android-studio.desktop entry this method created in the /usr/share/applications directory:
When this didn't help, I deleted the above mentioned .desktop entry and tried the method mentioned in this blog post, which required me to create the following jetbrains-android-studio.desktop file and paste it in /home/jayant/.local/share/applications directory
This also created an icon in my Dash but Android Studio refuses to launch with this also. Is there something I am doing wrong? I just want a simple launcher icon for Android Studio on my dash! I am using Ubuntu 14.04.
