Connectify Hotspot includes a universal Ad Blocker to prevent annoying and unwanted ads from displaying on devices that join your hotspot! It can even block in-app ads on iPhones, iPads, and Android mobile devices.
Connectify Hotspot PRO and MAX let you easily share the Internet connection from your 4G LTE or 5G mobile broadband device. This means you can share your family data plan with friends, coworkers, and all your other Wi-Fi enabled devices.
Hotspot MAX is the only virtual router software that gives you a real Wi-Fi Repeater so you can extend the range of your home or office Wi-Fi. Your main Wi-Fi connection sees all the devices connected to your Hotspot so you can play console games, share files, and stream content across the network.
Connectify Hotspot can be used for free successfully to share the Internet from WiFi and wired Ethernet networks, and it also includes the universal ad blocker. If you need more advanced features, you should consider upgrading to the PRO or MAX versions - see the comparison table above.
If you already have a Connectify Hotspot PRO license and would like to get a Connectify Hotspot MAX, you can buy the Connectify Hotspot MAX license from our Store. It will be added to your account, separately from the PRO one. Learn more here.
NOTE: If you recently bought a Connectify Hotspot and wanted to upgrade to Connectify Hotspot MAX or Connectify 3X MAX then please contact us at sup...@connectify.me. We would love to help you upgrade your Connectify Hotspot package!
Now, all that needs to be done is to activate your Connectify Hotspot Max License by clicking Tools> Activate License> and choose the Max license. Learn more about Activating your License here.
I've called support and they have "reset" things and said, "It should be better now. If not, give it a few days." Well, it's been a few days and 3 more calls to support and guess what... WiFi still sucks.
Our live Advisors are best equipped to test and resolved any concerns with slow Wi-Fi. Multiple devices, location, and and overhead obstacles are all factors that can effect download speeds. While you have already spoken with your live Advisors, we recommend doing so once more by pushing your blue OnStar button.
Ya, I feel like a real sucker paying for WiFi hotspot. It's fine for keeping up with email in the back ground, but if I want to visit any site that has video embedded, I have to turn off wifi and use my phone's cell service. Makes no sense since my phone uses the same provider as OnStar. I have called several times from my vehicle and they have never been able to get any improvement in in my hotspot. I'll get over 40Mb with my phone connected to cell network, but when I connect to my Cadillac hotspot it is less than 1Mb. I think someone should hold OnStar accountable for false advertising. They suggest better service with the hotspot because bigger antenna and better power (car battery/engine). It's a joke. I'm really sick and tired of them using "Multiple devices, location, and and overhead obstacles are all factors that can effect download speeds" as an excuse since the cell phone, shielded by the car roof, on its own blows the doors off the hotspot.
Yeah, I'll push the blue button again... but only to get a refund. The part that bothers me is that my wife's Trailblazer sitting next to my truck gets almost 25Mbps. So I know it's possible to get good speeds out of it.
Funny story about that "blue button." When they cancelled my service, the Blue Button could be pressed, but no one would answer. I had to call in via phone to get basic service re-established. Now I am being told that I need to wait 3-5 days for someone to get back to me with a resolution. Great service, as you are well aware!
On-star is similar to a prepaid phone line, they maybe using the same network as At&t but you do not get the same benefits as AT&T. (try running a speedtest, speedtest, neet and see what the service is being provided by, probably Zayo) The only way to get the full benefits of On-star is to port the number over from onstar to AT&T. Press the blue button ask for the phone number associated with your on star and than call AT&T and port the number over.
First use connectify to create hotspot and then turn on the mhotspot app and create hotspot again using it. It will work as the sharing has already been enabled by the connectify app. Then, close the connectify app. Now enjoy unlimited net sharing.
I cannot find where to set the SSID and key for the LTE WiFi hotspot. After doing a factory reset I can see that the hotspot is broadcasting but so far I have no way to control it. When I got to the Vehicle WiFi applet all that is there are settings to control how the vehicle to connects to external WiFi.
Right on. Thanks a ton and will do. I have half a mind to revert back to 3.3 via this tool and then update to factory 19205 which was my original. Do you see any problems with that? I am attaching pics of my original files/versions.
Sync 3.4 moved some things around. For the modem settings, it will be under Settings>Fordpass or Fordconnect. This requires(?) that you have set up the vehicle with Ford Connect thru your phone. Ford owner website has all the details.
v2020.1 [Apr 1, 2020]
- QR Code support: Just scan the QR code to have your Android smartphone or iPhone join the hotspot without having to log in or type passwords.
- Fixes for various minor user interface issues around Dark Mode.
- The DNS server now uses the system hosts file for overrides of domain names.
I've been using Zoom from home but now I have to go into an office with no wifi one day a week, using Zoom for 6 hours. Will using my iphone as a hotspot provide consistent quality? Would using a hotspot device be better? I'm a psychotherapist, so I need to have a consistent signal.
I dedicated hotspot with a USB connection might be just a little more of a robust solution though. You could pick a hotspot on the network with the best coverage for your location. Still try to pick a hotpot that supports a USB connection for tethering though.
Hello, i've setup a Pihole on a small machine (not using PiOS but debian) and i've a pre-configured network with a lot of devices using the routers own DNS and DHCP. I'm planning to use a lan-cable connected hotspot/wifi adapter and only let the clients connected to the hotspot use Pihole.
The answer would entirely depend on the capabilities of that hotspot:
It has to present itself to its clients as their router, while it connects to your main router as a client at the same time, and your Pi-hole is best connected to that hotspot's network.
If you instead want to run Pi-hole on that same machine:
There is certainly more than one way to achieve this, and there are users that have succeeded running Pi-hole on an RPi acting as wireless AP, see e.g.RaspAP && PiHole , and RaspAp + Pi-Hole - #2 by Bucking_Horn might also be relevant.
However, those posts may not be up to date.
And as such a configuration is not a Pi-hole issue at all, you should specifically check alternative sources for running an RPi as wireless AP.
Note that any AP would have to offer DHCP services to its clients, and as Pi-hole is also capable of doing this, the most likely source of trouble would lie in the configuration of pihole-FTL/dnsmasq, Pi-hole's embedded DHCP server.
I have been having this issue for awhile now. My phone will connect, work well for a few minutes, slow down, and then disconnect all together. I have erased all my settings twice, had Verizon update my carrier settings, gotten a new SIM card, and it still doesn't work. Is there a fix for this?? I'm trying to remote teach, and I am not having as much success as I need.
Same here. Wasn't even a problem with the ios14 beta. The issue literally started with the public release... Also noticed my phone would be a little more hotter than usual when devices are tethered to it.
This is a real issue that apple needs to address and fix. I called support yesterday and they first tried to blame my windows computer. I told them it was not as I was on the phone not my computer when I got an email to my phone and after that the blue bar on the top disappeared. This is what happens the phones modem maybe is turning off. But again it was working just fine since the start of COVID on iOS13. Apple this is such a important thing for so many people working from home.
It is not carrier specific issue! None of the Carriers in Kuwait have restriction on hotspot & the disconnections happen, especially when a call is answered. This is annoying as the Cisco VPN gets dropped and the wifi network disappears from the list of available networks etc.
Same problem here - most annoying. I tried resetting Network Settings with default to iPhone network name but a week on and the disconnects are so random often within a few seconds of each other.. iPhone no longer connects to other peripheral devices by Wifi which were OK under IOS13. Tried SIM in my old S7 Android and works perfectly with no disconnects...Come on Apple get this fixed as people need solid tethering to keep their lives and businesses on track during this Pandemic. This equipment is no toy considering the prices you charge!
