Haven't checked in for awhile. Busy with work and dealing with my
pain. I am going to trial another Spinal Cord Stimulator 3/14. The
Medtronic stimulator I tried last summer malfunctioned and kept
sending me zapping shocks. I wasn't willing to commit to having the
Lamy surgery to have it placed. My pIan, if it helps, is to have the
surgery this summer as I will have to take it easy for 6-8 weeks.
Luckily this year we have moved most of our clients at work to
consultation and I am handling much of that. My job usually requires
some lifting and helping kids with disabilities that was causing my
Thoracic and Cervical spine alot of pain. It really got to be taxing
on me before we hired someone to do most of that kind of work. I still
get to work with kids and make suggestions to improve their education.
I really like kids! They are so funny and most of them have a positive
affect that seems to spread throughout the room.
I found some research on OPLL that was interesting today and I thought
I would share with my fellow OPLLer's. The Journal of Neurosurgery
Online has compiled many papers relating to OPLL in their March issue.
I have just started to read a few. Hope everyone is well!

Hi Nancy & all opll friends,

Thanks so much for sharing this wealth of info. about opll, Nancy.  I read the 1st article with my med. dictionary in hand because there's so much med. jargon.  However, I found the tables to be understandable; they helped clarify/summarize each section.

I just bought some MBT rocker shoes because I have a neuroma in my right foot that feels like I'm walking on a rock.  The MBT shoes take the weight off of the metatarsal pad of the foot which is where the neuroma is.  Because the MBT shoes cause you to walk differently, they are supposed to strengthen your legs and back.  You're supposed to break them in slowly and wear them only a couple of hours a day until your legs have strengthened.  I'll let you know if they help.

Best wishes to all of you for a pain-free weekend.

Cheers!
