Hi Lisa,
I see that you're approaching your 6-month "birthday" from surgery. Congratulations! On Feb. 2, 2004, I had a laminectomy and fusion of my neck from C2-T1, and I have a beautiful vertical scar down my back. Because my surgeon removed the "lamina", or arch, from each vertebra, there is an indentation where the lamina used to be. At T2 and beyond, there is no indentation because the prominent arches of the vertebrae weren't removed. I've lost about an inch in height since the surgery, which I understand is common.
These changes in my spine took some getting used to but I'm just glad I survived the long surgery, and I don't experience any more numbness or tingling in my extremities. I am limited in turning my head however.
How about
you, Lisa? Has your surgery relieved your OPLL symptoms?
Regards,
Jan
