Mark, I love your honesty and your humbleness and your brokenness before God. I know that this long journey you have been on is helping you see God in a totally new and more honest way. Who would have thought the journey would be so long but my how you have grown in Him. Blessings on you as you continue to grow and mature and listen for his voice. He is preparing you Mark for what he wants you to grow into to serve him. Love to you. Diane

Where does this sense of guilt come from? You know the thoughts: I should want to read my Bible. I should be reading my Bible more often. I should be getting more out of it. And while some of these considerations are good and helpful, awakening us to our tendency to hunger for things other than God, some may be rooted in false guilt.

A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. ...

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.

For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.

"You want to censor books? Start with the one that you like the best," Rabbi Barry Silver, a parent who said he is challenging the Bible. "We don't like book banning and we don't like censorship and we're going to challenge it every step of the way."

With his announcement, the board is on official notice and wants a meeting for the board to hear his argument in July.

"I hope that they either ban the Bible and it creates such an outrage that people say the law has to go, or they won't ban the Bible and people say this is outrageous this is censorship," Silver said.

I am a new beginner in the bible and this has truly encouraged me to want a wonderful relationship with God. so motivating and inspiring. it answered some of the questions and fears I had about having a great relationship with God!!! thank you so much!!

I've been studying for sometime, but feel like I'm still new to this because there is so much to learn. I have come to a roadblock of where to begin. There is so much greatness in the bible I think I overwhelmed myself. I came across your page and I have to thank you for such positive, motivating, encouraging words. I will start with reading out loud to myself or whoever will hear. Thank you for this blessing.

I really appreciate your tips for studying the bible. I like how you said that reading out loud will force me to actually slow down and think about what I'm reading. Fast reading has always been a problem for me, so I'll have to try that.

It's great that you mentioned it's important to have the right reading material to start your bible studies. My aunt is a very religious person, and she wants to make their children excited to start studying her religion. I think that it's interesting to know about other people's cultures and beliefs. That's why I believe this article could help my aunt. I appreciate your tips about how to make easier the process of starting to study the bible.

My husband has cheated on me with several women. He leads a worldly lifestyle and goes out to drink and womanize. I want to forgive him and restore our marriage, but he denies any wrong doing and continues. He has cursed my womb and says that he does not want to have any children with me. He is a born again but backslidden Christian. Staying with him is too heavy a yoke for me to bear especially in a childless and loveless marriage. I do not want to be the aggressor in a court of law by divorcing him despite all of these hard challenges, but I am failing. Are we to forgive even those who throw away our offering of forgiveness? What is God's perfect will in this situation? What do I do?

Pick some tools: Set up your chosen place so you have everything you may want at-hand: a pen, highlighters, your journal, and your coffee (of course). But remember: you do not need anything but an open Bible.

Insert my story here. Behind my journey into the scratch-off world was the desire to be rich and it led to my falling into the temptation to spend anything at that moment to get what I wanted. Note that this verse is not condemning being rich, rather it details the desire and pursuit of such, which can steer your heart in directions you may never have thought possible.

If you want church to be exciting and relevant, get out there and do big things for God. Go on a mission trip to another country. Pledge to introduce Jesus to one of your friends, someone your age, this year. Get involved with actively reaching out to your community. Preach a sermon. Visit somebody in the hospital. Volunteer at a soup kitchen or homeless shelter.

While reading letters from my mother written throughout the last 20 years of her life, her story for all its abounding as well as suffering need was characterized by, "Waste not, want not." A forgotten aphorism in an affluent economy based on consumption and its conjoined waste sounds muted today in a Great Society whose hearers have auditory fatigue.

"I've wondered" Donald Miller said, which makes me wonder too, "if one of the reasons we fail to acknowledge the brilliance of life is because we don't want the responsibility inherent in the acknowledgement. We don't want to be characters in a story because characters have to move and breathe and face conflict with courage. And if life isn't remarkable, then we don't have to do any of that; we can be unwilling victims rather than grateful participants."

The scripture about the Armor of God keeps presenting itself in my studies, and based on several recommendations, I really want to dive deeper into it, which is why it is on my list of best Bible Studies for women.

If students want to read the Bible, it should be available in school libraries, Caldwell-Stone said. And so should books about atheism or pieces critiquing the Bible, among other religion-related texts.

But suppose you're looking to publish a small edition for sale? Like Adam, you don't want to pay a publisher to run 1,000 copies. Isn't there an easier way to get the ball rolling? A lot of people who never dreamed of becoming publishers ten years ago are getting into the racket now. It's just so easy! Upload your PDF and wait by the mailbox until, lo and behold, physical books arrive. Authors are publishing their own books, people are starting small magazines left and right. Can't we do the same thing with the Bible?

There is a second option. You want professional results but you can't afford to pay for them? Here's the answer: do some fundraising. Get a quote from a good designer, have some sample page spreads made. Take them to a printer who specialized in Bibles, choose your specs, and see how much it will cost. Then pitch your project and raise some money. Technology has revolutionized fundraising as much as it has publishing (see Kickstarter). You never know what will happen.

For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. Galatians 5:17

The problem with this is that we rarely do something just because we need to. If there is a need in your life, it is unlikely you will take action steps to meet that need unless something makes you actually want to.

Once you see their fire and passion, it becomes so contagious that you want what they have and you will fight to figure out how to get it for yourself. In order to grow, we have to get uncomfortable and try new things. No one grows in their comfort zone.

It has taken me a while to figure out a Bible study method I really love. My method is still ever-changing. However, I will share it with you in case you wanted to take it and modify it to suit your Bible study needs.

Next, I dive right in and read through the passage first without highlighting or taking notes. I want to get an overview of what the passage is saying before I try to look for details. As I am reading, I do make a mental note of anything that stands out so I can come back to it later.

I love this.
The bible is full of unimaginable mystery that can only be uncovered during bible study. I am currently challenging myself to read the whole bible in three months and I tell you the youversion app came handy

Am actually a newborn in Christ Jesus,my prayer life now is a miracle but want to know more about my Jesus by reading His word but dont know where to start from ,l think am going to try this method of yours .so help me God to be a lover of your word.

I am a 75 year old man that has come from a broken home, that has never know true love of his parents, because of all the anger and hate that they had for each other and m older brother and I were caught in the middle.Charles left at the age of16 or 17to excape the beating from a step father that should have been shot because of his way of doing things.Denton, the step father was a very mean and enjoyed enflecting pain on who ever he could, and by being a cop,he came up with some pretty painful things. My mother was not much better, they were to of a kind. Most of my life has been spent being put down and beaten, and that I believe is why I carry so much hate and anger.I use to read the Bible years ago,but because things happening I laid it down.I have lost my wife of 40 years.back in 2016,and I laid the Bible down, but I am trying to get back in to it ,but it is really hard to do. I am a Viet nam vet,and some of the things that I have seen brothers me still. When we came home from nam,we had women in the airport asking us how many babyish did we killed, they were not concerned how many men died keeping them safe,or the fact that those babies had a bomb on their back and was told to go up to 5 Or 6 vets and pull the pin and kill them.I have gotten better with some of my anger and hate, but, that is because of Jesus Christ, but I still have a long way to go,but pray that GOD will have his way in my life and that I can over come, and get right with God and get back to reading his word.I want to serve GOD here on earth, but when he calls,I want to be ready to go to a place where there is no more pain sorry or grief. I have tried to live my life my way,but I screwed it up,so now I want to try to do things Gods way! With Love, and many thanks,GOD BLESS. MIKE
