For a long time I have been unable to log into my Netbank account with Opera. No problems in Netscape 6.2.2 or
IE 6. When I click the "login" button in Opera, nothing happens. I changed the preferences to report javascript
errors and got a message like "unable to execute object to the left of the "."" or something similar to that. I
was able to log in with Opera 5.12, but once I got in could not navegate anywhere. I just got looping. If
someone could check this out for me... The address is www.netbank.com/login.htm. Choose "banking" in the list
box on the left. Then on the login page type in any 9 digit number and invent a password and click on the login
button.

I'm using Opera 6.03 on Windows ME

Nothing happened here either with Opera using www.netbank.com/login.htm.

The login section didn't display correctly in K-Meleon or Mozilla but it
did in Opera and Internetuser Exploiter. I then tried to login using
K-Meleon, Mozilla & finally Internetuser Exploiter and after entering my
username and password I received a message: "We are sorry, your online
account information is unavailable at this time. Please call NetBank
Customer Service at 1-888-256-6932."

Jonathan try this link:
<http://www.netbank.commbank.com.au/netbank/>

At the same time I was unable to login using your URL I was able to
login with all the browsers I mentioned at the above URL.
Although once you get inside Opera won't be able to open all links but
often (sometimes?} the others can.

If people don't have a valid username & password they won't get very far
on an encrypted web site (I hope)

Foot Note. In paid mode, Opera Mail could be compared to Eudora except
with Opera you get a free browser without additional cost. :-)

Tedd,

Thanks for the efforts here. I left one thing a bit unclear in my message. I realized that no one would
actually be able to login to the bank unless they just happened to hit the exact user id and password of some
unlucky person. The only issue was having anything at all happen when clicking on the "login" button. With
Opera nothing at all happens when I click on the "login" button -- nothing. It just sits there and stares at me.
In Netscape an IE I have no problems, though the site is clearly fine-tuned for IE, not Netscape.

The other url is for a different bank. Netbank.com is in the USA, the other in Australia.

I was a little unclear from your response. Did you succeed in getting the error message when you tried to login
with Opera, or only with the other browsers you mentioned?

- Jon

Jon, It must have been past my bedtime or because I'm getting older and
sillier. I never realised it was a different Netbank.

With Opera it just sat there and did nothing and I didn't receive an
error message. The error message was only received with the other
browsers.

Clicking on the login button does nothing in Opera;
However, hitting "Enter" after typing password gets me to my accounts

Thanks, Doyle. I've been looking for this solution for a long time. The strange thing is that on other sites
I often use the enter key. Why I never used it with Netbank's login, I'll never know.
