I installed the WMP plugin for Firefox and for a while the plugin worked
in Opera.
But today I went to a site with an embedded ASF stream and all I get is
the black window saying "Waiting for video," which is the same I got
when I hadn't installed the plugin yet. So I tried to install it again
from here:
http://port25.technet.com/pages/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download.aspx
(I'm noticing it doesn't mention the Windows 7 operating system...)
But nothing is happening. I tried change. I tried repair. I even
tried remove and then re-installing it. It won't work any more. I
don't know what changed.
The video stream itself is not down. I access the same web page with
MSIE (64bit) and the video plays. It must be a problem with the plugin.
The stream I want is...
http://winmedia.voxcdn.net/3137-live1-wmv
... from the site www.theyoungturks.com. Even the VLC player can play
it. Just the Media Player plugin doesn't work in Opera.

Yes, the plugin is there. Strangely enough its path is not in my C: drive.
It's D:\PFiles\plugins\np-mswmp.dll. Why is there a plugin installed there
and what is that path for?
At any rate, it isn't working. I don't get video despite the plugin, and I
don't know why.
Maybe it not the Pug-in but the WebSite
For I running XP sp3 with Opera 10.50
Now I fire up a Windows 98 with Opera 10.50
no Streaming Live
OK I click View in toolbar
go to Style I click Table Structure
and the Streaming Live start Working
Hmm it's the WebSite not the Pug-in
