My previous Usenet client, Pan, let me filter Usenet posts. For example, I
find the signal to noise ratio of posts originating with Google Groups to
be unacceptable, so I filtered them out.
Does Opera Mail allow filtering of Usenet posts? If not, can anyone
suggest a workaround?

Haven't been using Opera for newsreader for a long time. I think you can

add a new rule to the Spam folder. I find the "Message-ID" header contains
"googlegroups.com" if the message was posted from Google Groups.
