Opera IMAP and "authentication none"

I tried using the Opera as an IMAP client with a pre-authenticated
environment. Even though I set IMAP authentication to "none", Opera
still sends a LOGIN command, which our server doesn't recognize since
the account is already logged in, so it gets an error and can't download
the mail.

Evolution and Thunderbird work properly in this environment when I tell
them to use Kerberos/GSSAPI authentication, but that's not an option
for Opera.

Any ideas?
