Is there any way to reasonably delete messages?

Using Opera's mail client, whenever I select messages to
delete, Opera only deletes the top message of each thread,
meaning I have to reselect each thread up to a dozen times
(or more). There has to be a better way.

Switch to unthreaded view first. There is no way to delete an entire
thread in one go.

Perhaps select the first then shift + click the last to delete perhaps? It
worked for me in opera.test
