Hi!

Opera will not start on my PC:

$ opera
ERROR: ld.so: object 'libjvm.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded:
ignored.
ERROR: ld.so: object 'libawt.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded:
ignored.
/usr/lib/opera/8.50-20050916.5/opera: error while loading shared libraries:
libqt-mt.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

When i search for the libqt-mt.so.3 file, i find it in the lib64qt3-package:

$ urpmf libqt-mt.so.3
lib64qt3:/usr/lib/qt3/lib64/libqt-mt.so.3
lib64qt3:/usr/lib/qt3/lib64/libqt-mt.so.3.3
lib64qt3:/usr/lib/qt3/lib64/libqt-mt.so.3.3.4

Installed sw on my pc:

[amund@amund ~]$ rpm -q lib64qt3
lib64qt3-3.3.4-23mdk
[amund@amund ~]$ rpm -q opera
opera-8.50-20050916.5
[amund@amund ~]$ cat /etc/mandriva-release
Mandriva Linux release 2006.0 (Cooker) for x86_64

You're running a 32 bit app, with 64 bit libraries. Doesn't work.
As far as I know, opera doesn't have a 64 bit version, and most,
if not all plugins are only available in 32 bit versions.

Try installing the static opera version from
ftp://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/linux/850/final/en/i386/static/opera-8.50-20050916.1-static-qt.i386-en.rpm

If available, you need the 32-bit compatibility libraries.

The static version works.
