I uninstalled the previous version of Opera prior to installing 7.1.
Mozilla, IE, Lynx and Links all work fine. So its nothing to do with
connections, proxies or firewalls.
Any ideas?

There is no version 7.1 avaliable yet. We have a 7.01 though.

How so? If those other browsers have different settings, it could be a
connection problem. Do you *have* proxies or firewalls? ZoneAlarm for
example needs to be told to allow outbound traffic from this "new"
application.
What Windows version do you use? What connection type?

2000 Pro SP3 with an NTL cable connection, no proxy, no firewall.
Opera 6 still works fine, Opera 7 had no issues before the upgrade. None
of my browsers have different connection settings.
