Some people here may have enjoyed del.icio.us (or furl/spurl) bookmarks
and thought about accessing them from Opera better than through the
website.

While Firefox has foxylicious plugin and live bookmarks (an integration of
bookmarks and rss that Opera lacks), Opera lives its users with built-in
bookmarks only and no good way to access online bookmarks.

Thankfully, you can use Spurl (spurl.net) to fix this deficiency.

Spurl is a site similar to del.icio.us, which supports two-way integration
with del.icio.us (you can add a link on Spurl and have it posted to your
account on del.icio.us and you can import your del.icio.us bookmarks to
Spurl). The bookmarks can be posted using a nice pop-up window.

The coolness of Spurl is in sidebars (panels) that it has for what looks
like all browsers in existence, including Opera.

The Opera sidebar has two killer-features. The first is tag browsing,
where you can see the huge list of your tags (or use "auto-complete"-like
suggestions), select one, then have the list instantly shrunk to the
"sub-tags" and then narrow your selection. At each stage you can see the
list of urls marked with that tag.

The second and the greatest feature of the sidebar is nearly instant
search of your bookmarks, which not only searches the descriptions and
tags, but also searches the full-text of the pages. The search works using
some clever DHTML/HTTP tricks, where it doesn't load any pages, but just
the necessary bits of info. You don't need to press search, the panel
immediately updates the list of results when you type additional
characters.

Opera has potential (with bookmarks), but sadly, it doesn't develop its
bookmarks much. If only it improved their interface (make editing and
organizing easier, don't force users to use ugly Properties dialogs, allow
some inline editing in Managing Bookmarks), allowed searching for several
search terms (this applies to all search in Opera) and added
synchronisation options (or at least import/export functions) for biggest
social bookmark sites...
