hi,
am i using opera 5.12 under w2k. when opera
crashes, i will see for a very short time a blue
screen with supposingly the error message and
then my computer restarts. sometimes it even
happens that the restart fails, so that i have to
turn off and on my computer in order to go on.
i observed, that opera is likely to crash when my
notebook goes into the suspend mode with
opera running at that time.

any helps,
micthi

I think you need to tell Win2K not to automatically reboot upon crashing.

For the second problem, do you have Opera doing anything that
requires it to connect while you are in sleep mode - regular
mail check, automated page reload, IM keep-alive?
Does putting Opera into offline-mode before you go to suspend help?

do you know where I can do this?

The mail check is on.

Can I set up Opera/ Win2k that it automatically switches in the
offline mode when the suspend mode turns on.

No, sorry, I'm on NT, but I've definitely seen it mentioned before in
this group

I would suggest disabling it for now. There is a long-standing wishlist
item for automatic mailcheck to launch only when you are actually online.

Once again I don't know, but I don't think Opera is that scriptable.

Go to Control Panel|System|Advanced|Startup and Recovery then
uncheck "Automatically reboot". This is supposed to stop the system
from rebooting after a STOP, but from searches I've done on Google
(and personal experience), it doesn't always work.
