Using latest version of Opera for Windows and all is well apart from the
balloon tip that appears when I login to Amazon,Ebay or any other site.

The balloon tip reads "show all saved passwords" when I click on the
password box.

I do not have Opera saving my passwords in settings and clicking on the
"show all saved passwords" box reveals of course no passwords saved as
you would expect.

How can I get this message to stop appearing in the first place ? I see
no point in it whatsoever other than a person who might want an easy way
of viewing my passwords !

Is it just me, can anyone justify it, and more important how do I stop
the message appearing.

Mine isn't doing that - 49.0.2725.47.

If you open "Settings" and "Privacy" and look for "Passwords",
what's there?

Under passwords I have "offer to save passwords" unchecked. Clicking on
the box underneath I also have the box "automatic sign in " unchecked. I
do not get the "show all passwords" on every site , say 60%.

Huh. I have them turned on, but I haven't saved passwords.
I think I get prompted sometimes and I say "never on this site".

I'll try leaving them off and see if the behaviour is like yours.

Remove Opera and get a decent and safe browser. That's the only way to
stop this! Opera has always been a dangerous and destructive piece of
software. The sooner you get rid of it, the better!

Thanks for this info.

For some reason I haven't had the "show all passwords" message for a few
weeks so perhaps something was done in an update.

And as to the person who gave derogatory comments about the Opera
browser, may be interested in the fact earlier this week I did a manual
update of Google Chrome and two viruses were detected by my antivirus
whilst the update was downloading ! I'm not saying it was downloading
the update that caused the virus notifications, but there again .....

+1

I wouldn't install Opera again if someone paid me. I rate Opera as one
of the top 5 worst pieces of software ever written, and it takes top
place for being the most destructive.

Your obsession looks set to outlast that of Ed "man as old as coal" Conrad.
