Opera gets the Award for being the WORST Browser ever made.

Never have I used such a piece of garbage as Opera. You want a browser
that will totally fuck up the layout of a webpage, get Opera. Want a
browser that takes control of your mouse cursor, so you cant remain on
the part of the page you want to read, get Opera. Want a browser that
completely renders a page wrong, get Opera. Want a browser that
regularly brings up a message that says "Sorry, we dont support this
browser", get Opera. Want a browser that repeatedly brings up blank web
pages, get Opera. Want a browser that will fuck up Firefox, get Opera.
Want a browser that will crash often and regularly, get Opera. Want a
browser that will make your whole computer run like shit, get Opera.
Want a browser that cant even load Google correctly and puts the text
and bottons from the top of the Google page, right on top and over
everything someone in the middle of the page, get Opera. Want a browser
that will drain all your computer's resources, get Opera. Want a
browser that will slow down your entire computer, get Opera. Want a
browser that you'll absolutely HATE, you found it, the moment you
installed Opera.

BUT WAIT.
There is one (and only one) Good thing about Opera, and that's the great
feeling you get right after you remove it from your computer. That's a
high better than the best cocaine rush. The experience is similar to
killing someone who you have hated for years, and getting away with it.
An experience similar to catching a rat that has gotten into your house
and annoyed you for the last month, and now it's dead in a trap, and on
the way to the garbage.

OPERA, THE BROWSER THAT WILL RUIN YOUR DAY!

IF YOU VALUE YOUR COMPUTER AND YOUR SANITY, AVOID OPERA. YOU'LL BE GLAD
YOU DID!!!!

Since I'm running XP I can't have a version of IE that Microsoft
cares about, and Chrome, which probably has the best security, has a
UI that leaves me feeling I've been spat upon, so now I've defaulted
to Firefox, which is coming along nicely.

Obviously, you've never used older versions of MSIE.

For every bitch you make below, please provide examples. Seriously. I don't
have any of those problems, so please explain exactly what the fuck you're
talking about.

That one isn't Opera, that's the website designers.

I haven't had Opera crash in a few years now, and rarely before that.

I never could understand how someone like you could be so madly in love
with a piece of software. Well, I hate to burst your bubble, but you
picked the worst piece of trash ever written. So bad in fact, that it
does not qualify to be called "software". It's pure garbage. That just
proves how bad your taste is.

I bet you'd go so far to even murder your spouse, parents, best friends,
or anyone else to defend your chosen "Opera God". The browser which you
worship every Sunday in church.

If anyone is uninformed and ignorant, IT'S YOU! But I dont doubt that
you and the other dumb-fucks who continue to praise this piece of
garbage you refer to as a "browser" are all employed by Opera. Hey, you
can say whatever you want about me, but in the end, I'm right. You're
only defending it because you know it's your bread and butter, come
payday.

What I dont understand is this. Opera has been around for over a
decade. It was a piece of shit when it first began, and is still a
piece of shit today. GIVE IT UP. If you have not been able to fix it
by now, you never will. There's a reason it's one of the least used of
all browsers, which can be determined by a quick google search.

Personally I dont give a flying fuck what you idiots say. Nor am I even
going to further explain anything. I clearly stated some of the most
notable faults of the damn thing, and there are many more. I also
stated my opinion, and that is my right. What you and your cloned opera
freaks and worshippers on this newsgroup say, means nothing to me.
However, I do hope others who are considering installing Opera, read
this and heed my warning. Opera was a failure the moment it was first
introduced, failed again when they tried to charge money for the piece
of crap, and continues to fail even as freeware. Like I said before,
it's time to toss in the towel, and GIVE IT UP. The ship is sinking.
Why not spare others of the torture of trying to make this miserable
piece of garbage function, when there is no way in hell that it ever
will come even close to any other browser. Even the early (lousy)
versions of Internet Explorer such as version 5 and 6, were far superior
to Opera. SAY GOODBYE to Opera, it's going going gone!!!

Soon all that will remain is an article on Wikipedia saying how lousy it
was, and how it self destructed, because no one could ever make the damn
thing work. Obviously the programmers are idiots, or on some sort of
narcotics if they think anyone wants their garbage.

By the way, I've tried it on numerous Microsoft operating systems, from
Windows 3.x up to Windows 7. Everytime it's proven to be garbage and in
several instances has caused other disturbances on my computers.

FACE THE FACTS. OPERA IS GARBAGE. Toss it in the nearest garbage can
and move on. There's Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Seamonkey,
K-Meleon, Netscape, Safari, Flock, Slim Browser, Avant Browser, and
other lesser known ones (For Windows ONLY). ALL of them are far
superior and work better, if not excellent, compared to Opera.

(By the way, I have personally tried every browser in this list above,
and although a few were not perfect, they all functioned fairly well if
not flawlessly. On the other hand, Opera failed in every possible way).

There you have it, I have nothing further to say. If you love Opera,
more power to ya. Some people love to eat rotting garbage too, and with
Opera, that's exactly what you get!

If you don't like Opera then use something else. Also, have you

Could I just say that although Opera's had a few glitches over the '12' series, I'd still rather use it more than Chrome, Internet Explorer or Safari.
I still use Firefox as well, as I like that too, but Opera is still a very much loved piece of kit, especially at the price.

It would be a cold day in HELL before I ever allow Opera anywhere near
one of my computers again. Every version from the first to whatever the
latest abortion of version 12 exists is GARBAGE. It's not merely trying
the piece of shit, it requires hours of tedious work to get rid of it
entirely. It damages the operating system, which has to be repaired
after Opera is removed.

Anyone who reads this, and has not yet installed the piece of shit, heed
this warning. If you want to try Opera, BEWARE. Unlike most software,
you cant just uninstall it, when you dont like it. When you do remove
it, be prepared to go back and repair whatever version of MS Windows you
have. This can be time consuming, and if you dont know how, it can be
costly to have a computer shop undo the damage caused by Opera.

Gee--thanks for the heads-up on some browser I don't anticipate ever trying and have barely ever heard of. Meanwhile, I never had some site offering an upgrade for some "essential" piece of crap the entire internet has been thimble-rigged to require as minimum-basic-requirement-for-access first FORCE me to install this "opera" thing before I could get the updated version of whatever A-dopey POS it was I needed prior to being able to install the upgrade of the A-dopey POS. That's CHROME territory. It sucked that time ( and I "got wood" when I uninstalled it ) and having just tried it again I am proud to report that of the browsers anyone is likely to be FORCED to use or install by some well-intentioned ( maybe... ) or co-opted ( most likely! ) site offering upgrades of "essential" craplications or in anticipation of having one's ability to access anything proffered on the internet by the browser's authors sabotaged if not using their browser, CHROME takes the cake for worst craplication MOST people are ever likely to encounter--and that' s saying a lot considering the voluminous list of craplications teeming on/in/around cyberspace today.

You may be correct about this "opera" thing I don't and am never likely to know. I don't even think I knew it was a browser until I typed my search term Worst Browser Ever into the navigation bar of CHROME and got your post on this group as one result. What percentage of netizens ever install Opera on a system? Are there any important or ( presumably ) useful sites most people are going to try to access which is operated by the authors of this Opera thing so that people might think they would have the best experience accessing those sites if they do so using the browser offering from the owner of any such sites?

I installed this CHROME abomination in anticipation of having loads and loads of trouble accessing something google offers online, since almost everything the have ever offered or taken over online I've ever tried has been a total fuster-cluck using any other COMMON browser. I haven't yet found out if using that "service" will be streamlined by using it's owner's pet browser because this POS CHROME is so clunky, stupidly arranged and webtarded that I haven't even gotten beyond the stage of going on every possible forum and venting my spleen about how CRAPPY chrome was when I was *forced* to try it as a condition of getting something else upgraded and since I've tried it again in anticipation of it streamlining access to something it's authors offer as a service on the internet.

So a far as the award for the worst browser MOST people will ever try, use or by which they will otherwise be afflicted ( as in dealing with websites thimble-rigged to be best-accessed by the owner's browser when you don't have that browser on your computer ) it would have to be CHROME. One would THINK that it had been a project of yahoo since Suzy Homemaker took it over.

I used Opera (up to 12.15) and now use Opera Mail for some newsgroups.
They work fine from my end. The problem is Gmail (and possibly other)
users who, I presume, employ a/the Google Groups interface somehow (I have
never used it), so that any replies they make contain ever more blank
lines, which the writers do not delete. It can be very frustrating to get
posts from Google users with quotations several levels deep, so that I
have seen as many as four and five quoted blank lines in between lines of
actual text. Blechchch!!! :@

And it poisons the user profile folder by putting executable files in it.

Tick, tock, tick, tock... ring a bell?
They can't cope with the little buggers that are piling up.

They don't care about them and kept adding features instead.
Tick, tock, tick, tock...
.
.
.
They reached their peak and the boom occured on v12.13.
They fixed it and rushed v12.14.
They realized their mistake, but the buggers are already too much for them.
The main developers left Opera, less experienced ones took over.
Development progress dropped to near none, v12.15 is released.
Rare significant bug was found in v12.15, but they kept quiet about it.
They realized they no longer have any resource for it.
Then they gave up.

Liar. You probably program the fucking thing.....

Opera IS not only the Worst Browser ever made, but it's the worst piece
of software ever written for any computer.

I have used Opera thousands of times and I never had any trouble with it. Hey Buddy, its not the browser, it is you that does not know how to use your PC. That is more to the point. I suggest you go and take some computer courses, I did and it helped me very much.

I've used Opera for many years also, albeit with a small lag whilst they caught up with silly things like bookmarks etc.
It has odd quirks now and then, but is a great browser, somewhat better than Chrome or IE.
Amazing how long this thread goes on for isn't it.

I vote for Google Chrome. Whoever designed this browser obviously works for a fictional combo of either Clyde Crashcup or Wile E Coyote!!

Well... not everyone can drive a manual.
If you simply want to enjoy driving without caring anything else, an

It is 2017, and I concur, Opera is the worst popular browser out there.
And if the list above is not enough, here is probably the worst trait of opera: security and deception:

Opera was going downhill since Presto version 10. Bugs were piling up little
by little. They realized it too late and took the wrong turn on version 15
and ended up jumping off a cliff.

Now apparently, the dev team don't learn their mistakes even since they took
the wrong turn. Bugs are starting to pile up again.

Opera Presto is still the best browser to users who know what they want and
don't want. New Opera users are likely don't know how full featured Opera
Presto is. They'd easily disses it because lack of support of latest web
standards.

If the Opera company kept Presto, fixed it, and updated it to support the
latest web standards, it would easily be the top web browser. Firefox's
features would only be 40% of Opera Presto, and Chrome features would merely
be a fraction of Opera Presto. The current Opera (Blink) features is about
5% of Opera Presto.
