The situation is made more ridiculous by my being able to read the Opera
Tutorials with Avant browser.
Can any one advise how to solve the problem, please?

Can you load other webpages in Opera? Do you use firewall or proxy
software that might interfere?

I have Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro & Opera.exe is an allowed app. I have
changed no settings in my security apps which would restrict Opera's access
to the net. OS is XP Home SP2 w/all updates. No proxies.
Have uninstalled & reinstalled Opera Version 8.51
Build 7712
Platform Win32
System Windows XP
Java Sun Java Runtime Environment version 1.5
XHTML+Voice IBM Multimodal Runtime Environment, Version: 4.1.3, Build:
20050324.01.1
Should I perhaps clean Registry after uninstalling Opera?
Thx for your queries.

With automatic redirection turned off, I get ...
Moved Permanently
The document has moved here.
with here being a link to http://my.opera.com/
Clicking on that link, I get ...

The document has moved here.
Apache Server at my.opera.com Port 80
with here being a link to http://my.opera.com/community/
which works fine.

http://www.opera.com/support/ is working fine here.

Check Agnitum, to make sure it doesn't think opera has changed by for example,
upgrading from 8.50 to 8.51. I'm thinking you may have missed a prompt from
outpost, saying the application has changed, allow/disallow. I haven't used
outpost since the free version (I switched to linux), so I'm not sure where
in the settings to check.

Thx for suggestion.
