Hi. Using Opera 11.50
When I save this page with Opera as "Html file with images" it doesn't save
the images:
http://forums.peavey.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=16587
If save that page with Firefox or IE they both save it just fine with the
images.
I've noticed this deficiency in Opera before and in earlier versions. If
I'm browsing the 'net with Opera and find a webpage I want to save then I
have to copy the url and open it in another browser that works properly.
So my question (after WTF?) is WHY?

It worked perfectly for me with O 12.14 b 1738 / Win32 XP Pro SP3. And I
don't ever recall having had any problems with any earlier Operas back to
when I started using version 8. Maybe you have some obscure setting
somewhere that needs to be (re)set. One thing that is frustrating (at
least to me) about Opera is all the background settings which often are
not at all obvious.

Thanks for testing Guy.
But you're using Opera v.12.14
It doesn't work in Opera v.11.50 (see above).
It doesn't work in Opera 9.64 either.
It works with Firefox 2 (5 yrs old) and even Internet Explorer 6 for gods
sake (9yrs old).
I just did a fresh install of Opera 9.64, 11.5 and 12.14 on a different
computer running the same OS (WinXP). I completely uninstalled, registry
cleaned and crap-cleaned and rebooted before each install.
The latest version of Opera, 12.14, DOES save the images, the other
versions DO NOT.
It still will not save thumbnail images in youtube pages whereas Firefox
has no trouble with that and never has. Opera (even v.12.14) is on a par
with Internet Explorer 6 (!!) in that respect.
But finally Opera (12.14) is able to save images from archived pages
stored by web.archive.org which it has never been capable of doing. It is
now the equal of IE 6 in that respect as well.

Works in Opera 11.64 (Windows).
1 HTML, 1 CSS, 12 GIFs and 5 JPGs are included. (JS was disabled)

If you're still using Opera 11.50 and don't want to upgrade to v12.x yet,
I suggest upgrading to 11.64 since it has fewer bugs. But v11.64 doesn't
support reading MHT files yet.

Thanks JJ. I've downloaded 11.64 and will give it a go.

Errr. My turn to say "there must be something wrong with you (your
system)". Don't you just like hearing that (as valid as it may be). MHT
is Opera's preferred page-storage format. I can certainly 'save as..' MHT
and open them with 11.50.
Cheers

Thanks Paul. Some facts and suggestionss in the thread now and I have to
agree with your last statement. Took me ages to get the basic "Tools"
menu where I could access it easily. You have to check "Show Menu Bar" in
the "Files" menu before you can start doing anything conveniently. I
wonder who thought that was a smart idea to hide/disable that by default.
