I don't normally have the "Panels" toolbar active. Is there a standard
keyboard shortcut (or mouse gesture) to activate the Info Panel? If not,
is it possible to add such a shortcut? I have to admit that I find the
keyboard definition mechanism confusing.

Exactly what I asked for, thank you!

Shift+F4 takes me to the Info panel, and F4 takes me back to where I
started. You were just a little late for Christmas, otherwise the ideal
gift for me.

You can actually just use F4 to toggle the panel on and off. I had never
even tried Shift+F4 until reading this - it appears to be the same but
leaves the 'panel selector' visible.

F4 (for me) just toggles the "Panels Selector" on and off. At the
moment, my only interest in the Panels Selector is as a necessary step
to seeing the "Info" panel. Shift+F4 takes me from neither toolbar nor
selector to selector and panel in one keystroke. F4 then turns both of
them back off.

It seems slightly odd to use a different keystroke to return, but as a
physicist I'm used to systems with a little hysteresis in them. :-)

If I use this enough, I may just leave the Panels Selector visible all
the time. It's just another excuse for getting that 24" monitor I've
been thinking about.
