I'm currently running Opera 9.5 beta 2 Build 1933 with Shockwave
Flash 9.0 r48 and an installed JRE on Debian GNU/Linux.
Now, I stumbled upon two "little" problem with Opera, which are - at
least I think so - related to each other:
a) On closing tabs, plugins are not correctly closed. That means, e.
g. flash plugins still block the audio device. Killing
operapluginwrapper manually solves this. Additionally, temporary
files from flash (e. g. Youtube) stored in /tmp are not deleted when
Opera is closed resulting in a few hundred megabytes of wasted space
after some time.
b) Opera eats more and more memory by the time it's used. In fact,
the two processes "opera" and "operapluginwrapper" both consumed
around 250 MB (500 in total!) after maybe an hour of running (and
quite a few flash games etc.).
Is anyone else recognizing these problems?
Greetings,
Claudius

Matter will be damaged in direct proportion to its value.
I run the same system, just I run it on Ubuntu and I have the 1962 build,
with both Shockwave Flash 9.0 r48 and an installed JRE.

This also has happened to me for an unknown reason, in the past, but I
haven't run up to this kind of problems with this build. I'll recheck and
keep you posted about it (my internet connection is extremely slow these
days, so watching vids is barely possible).

I can confirm this, even FF 3.0b5 eats a lot less memory than Opera with
the latest builds, I also don't know what is the reason for this.

Me too. But it seems that the temporary files from flash stored in
~/.opera/cache4.
