I'm considering installing Opera over my existing production installation
when TP2 comes out. I usually do this anyway, except I hesitated on O9TP1
because the release notes said there's a new mail storage format which is
incompatible with earlier versions and irreversible.
For those who have been using TP1, how has the stability been for the mail
storage? I haven't heard any reports whatsoever of lost mail or corrupt
indexing on this preview, so it sounds safe enough...

possibly because everyone took the advice not to use TP as a primary mail
client :-)

I would recommend against this. You don't have any guarantee as to how
soon they will release a new TP/Beta version that will fix that bug that
bites you the hardest. Just look at the three months interval between TP1
and TP2. (Although I admit that it's unlikely that it will take so long
again until TP3/Beta1, but you never know...)

Yes, that's something I'm interested in as well. Howver, given the warning
with TP1, perhaps not that many heavy-M2-users avtually tried M2 in 9TP1?
BTW, I noticed no such explicit M2 warning on the TP2 readme; shouldn't it
be repeated there as well, or has the format changed back again, or is it
considered safe now?

That's a good point. I'll keep it cordoned off for now.
It's a pity, as I was really looking forward to using some of the new
features rather than just testing them.

Well, I was so desperate to get a working mail client that I switched to
TP1. I haven't had any issues with the mail, but the browser has been
quite unstable. TP2 seem to rectify that.

If you have access to a mailserver, or your ISP gives you multiple
accounts, you could alias your mail so it goes to two mailboxes - clear
one with TP2 and a backup with a trusted client.
