Are you maybe using a pre-9.5 customized menu?

If it defines a section [Browser File Menu] that doesn't contain options
added in 9.5, yes. Customized menus often require some maintenaince to be
useful after an upgrade. Especially if they contain the full menu, not
just the sections that differ from the default menu setup.

Hello-

I am having the same problem as the poster, and my screen shot looks the
same. I guess therefore I am "using a pre-9.5 customized menu" although
I sure don't think I ever customized anything in any of the preceding
Opera versions that I have had over the years.

The poster seems to have known how to fix the problem but I do not know
what to do now. Please advise me.

Thank you.

Go to 'Tools > Preferences > Advanced > Toolbars', and select 'Opera
standard' in the list of Menu setup files.

Are you sure you are using Opera 9.5? See 'Help > About Opera'.

I go there and in the "Menu Setup" there has only one item "opera
standard" so it seems it is already selected?

So what do I do?

Yes, "Help" says version 9.50 beta
buld 9945.

At my office is a computer with the same Opera version and has the
synchronize functions working fine.

I copied from that computer's default folder the file
"standard_menu.ini" and put in the computer that was was not seeing any
syncronize choice in the menu:
Here's what happened.
I was able to see the syncronize choice appear in the menu as
M_SYNC_LOGIN

I clicked on it and then it opened a small window in which I signed in.
An opera page then opened that said I was now in synochrized mode.
The menu choice now says:
M_SYNC_LOGOUT

But no green symbol has appeared on the status bar.

So am I in synch mode?
Will changes i make to my bookmarks be visible at my office computer??
And what with the strange _ marks showing up in the menu?
