Crashed on Google Reader site

Hi there, using Ubuntu 8.04 (x86_64), fresh install (mostly), P4 2GB
RAM, running Opera 9.5b2 x86_64. The first thing I did was to type in
google.com/reader and Opera shuts down. On the console side of things,
I got:

wari@scorpid:~/Desktop$ opera

ERROR: ld.so: object 'libawt.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded:

Segmentation fault

Hmm, it's beta1, not beta2. Where can I download beta2 for x86_64?

Strange and apparently unrelated, try running "ifconfig eth0 mtu 1460"
Replace eth0 with whichever interface you use to connect to the net.
This suggestion is assuming you are running an icedtea version of java,
on linux.
