I am new to fitbit, but would like to begin testing. Is the current
code able to access data without any external network access? From
reading on the web, it seems that many reference the windows client
software sending data to the fitbit web site.
I wish to operate without sending my data to any external site if
possible.
The information regarding this was not found in docs ...

Yup, the current code at
is able to access the tracker directly, if in a somewhat buggy fashion. The data-format branch has more up-to-date features, but it still in development. Might be worth trying though.
